Are you ready to become the new Commercial Director of our Performance hub here at The Student Hotel? Can you lead us in positioning TSH as the place to Work, Stay, Learn & Play in a post COVID world? We believe the new generation of hospitality customer is ready for us….are you? It’s time for some disruptive commerce!

Your mission, should you choose to accept it…

Will be to win against challenging competitors, winning a greater share for TSH in established and new sales and distribution channels. You own the commercial success of TSH. You will use every channel and technic to increase sales & conversion across all products and customers throughout the portfolio.

As director of the Performance Hub, you’ll be shaping TSH’s commercial domain and constantly optimizing our ways of doing business – entrepreneurial, innovative and bold. You’ll lead a centralized HQ team as well as de-centralized team-members located across Europe. Collaboration with our other Hubs is also key, with your peers focusing on Operations, Digital, Community and Product & Experience. You know how to structure and deploy disruptive market and sales techniques. By doing so, you create a sales graph that goes through the roof.

We want our customers, members and business partners to be happy and proud to be part of our community. This is commerce to us. It’s not just about adding new channels and sales strategies. You will be asked to install a can-do mentality across all teams to help add value to the customer while also encouraging them to invest more time and money across the TSH network. Our commercial success is driven by our ability to build relationships and gain the trust of our community of stakeholders, from universities to start-ups, from students to parents. Our commercial strategy relies on A) relationships and recurring business, as well as B) understanding our community’s needs and developing the right channels to target those needs.

Requirements

What You’ll Do
You’ll inspire and lead your teams to drive TSH’s commercial success:

  • You lead commercial growth through developing the commercial strategy for all existing or new TSH products and locations and lead?the commercial teams in implementing and constantly optimising cross-functional strategy.
  • You’ll set smart price strategies per segment in collaboration with our Product-team and of course the hotel managers.
  • You set budgets and take ownership of delivery on these targets.
  • You’ll manage all (non-digital) revenue driven functions in close collaboration with Digital, Experience, Community and Operational teams.
  • You set the pace, drive for results and high performance, create new and better ways of doing things to achieve business success. You identify and examine alternatives and growth opportunities.
  • You put our customers bang in the middle, understand their journeys, know how to approach them how to offer them what they want, when they want it, so they want more of it. You know how to close the deal and can teach us all how to do this with a smile.
  • You’ll create an atmosphere where every single TSH-er should be able to sell our total offering to everyone they meet and talk to, understand the great offerings we have and understand the roles we all play in adding to performance while making our customers the happiest campers in the world.
  • You build deep and lasting relationships with customers developing practices to cross sell and upsell.
  • You will report directly to our COCO (Chief Customer and Commercial Officer)

  • The Sales Team; Key-Account Management Education and Hotel segments, Global Commercial Partnerships?and Sales Effectiveness.
  • The Central Revenue team
  • The Reservations team
  • Who You Are

  • You’ll have extensive experience in successfully managing a multi-disciplinary commercial team in the retail, airline or other relevant combined B2B/B2C experience industry. Or even hospitality
  • You have experience in; pricing strategy, optimizing sales channel distribution mix, and new market/location and product launch.
  • You believe that adding value to customers also adds to the bottom line.
  • You are result oriented. You will win market share, double margins, deliver new international market revenues, double education partnerships, and delivery revenue targets.
  • You are able to build, lead, motivate and empower a collection of diverse central and decentral teams to outperform individual targets whilst still conforming to a common business formula and set of values. You can drive high levels of engagement creating a sense of community.
  • You navigate through industry disruption and business transformation; you are agile and able to make good decisions in a fast-paced environment. You understand market trends and can translate these into the growth opportunities.
  • You inspire collaboration across all levels of the organization. You communicate a persuasive vision and build connections.
