Reporting directly to the vice president and general manager of Avery Dennison Smartrac and a dotted line to the vice president, Information Technology RBIS, you will be a member of the global RBIS IT leadership team as well as the Avery Dennison Smartrac leadership team. We expect you to conceptualize, implement and lead the Digital Transformation Journey of, encompassing both the IT enablement programs such as Oracle Fusion ERP Implementations, Master Data and Process Standardization, in addition to the critical business initiatives of unified Customer Experience (CX), Manufacturing 4.0 and Digital and Data Analytics Solutions. This is a senior level role that requires providing timely updates to senior executive management, managing matrixed teams and strong leadership/influencing capabilities, overseeing planning, budgeting and scheduling by tracking the progress and expenses across the full execution cycle.
You will be globally responsible for the strategic and operational performance of the IT function within the Avery Dennison Smartrac business unit, to define and deliver services required to achieve business goals. Key priorities for the role include:
Partner to the general manager and their leadership teams in the definition and delivery of information technology solutions.
Active member of the RBIS IT global Information Technology Leadership team.
Develop and implement an overall IT strategy that provides the business with the systems, technology and organization necessary to support and enhance the overall business strategy.
Deliver information technology solutions within budget and customer expectations.
Ensures that each project leverages the existing Oracle ERP standard functionality, complying with master data management, templates, and Avery Dennison standard global processes.
Manages stakeholders’ communication and aligns the business deliverables to the program’s outcomes
Manages and assists in managing multi-year large/complex projects in collaboration with the IT Project Management Office (IT PMO), setting design/operations and governance controls.
Provide overall leadership for:
Definition of strategic opportunities for utilizing information technology to deliver business goals.
Evaluation and deployment of new IT solutions across all regions.
Maintenance and operation of existing systems to ensure that they provide cost-effective service levels and meet business information needs.
Development of processes that identify future technologies and integrate them into the AD Smartrac business unit
Implementation of Avery Dennison Smartrac global IT Strategies across all regions
Lead technology-enabled changes through the organization.
Provide motivating leadership & guidance to the IT teams.
The successful candidate must have a proven history in managing large-scale global programs including more recent experience in similar Digital Transformation projects.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. At least 8-10 years strong business experience, as well as significant experience in leading IT in a manufacturing organization [preferably a director of IT for a region of a business unit or a global business unit]
Strong functional and technical knowledge and experience of Digital Transformation.
Experience working across Oracle Fusion ERP Manufacturing/IT projects, including order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, supply chain, manufacturing and finance. Additional experience with ERP implementations leveraging Oracle Cloud Solutions.
Logical thinker, highly organized and structured in methodology and work habits.
Highly effective communication and listening skills to grasp complex tasks and adapt communications to be understandable for the users.
Support in developing IT and digital strategy with excellent presentation and storytelling skills
Strong creativity and troubleshooting skills required, with ability to logically isolate and resolve complex problems, whether business or system oriented.
Must possess a true sense of urgency to get work done quickly and accurately.
Strong interpersonal skills, performance driven.
Independent worker – must be able to work remotely, self-disciplined, to a large part.
Cross-culture global working experience, covering program delivery in Western, Asian and emerging markets is a must.
Experience in defining, developing and implementing IT strategies and major systems; broad based business person capable of applying current and future technology and competencies to meet overall business strategies and priorities.
Experience in a heavily matrixed managed organization.
Proven ability to act as a change agent for the organization (beyond the IT organization)
Knowledge of high level differences in requirements by function/division
Capabilities to coach, manage, and guide a team.
Ability to travel globally.
