About the International Platform Team
Roku’s International Platform Team is responsible for the all monetization streams of Roku’s platform business in all markets outside of the US. This includes Content, Advertising and our AVOD offer The Roku Channel. The team is based in Mexico, Brazil, Canada, UK, the US and the Netherlands.

We are interested in forging more international partnerships that thread the needle between strategy, technology, entertainment, and finance, driving important growth projects that determine when we build, rent, or buy our next leap forward. Our team is small and very international, providing the opportunity for outsized impact and exposure with Roku’s senior business, product and technology leaders. We are continuously plotting and seeking new ways to accelerate our roadmaps and bring additional strength to Roku’s International Business.

About the role

Roku is looking for an experienced Director International Platform Partnerships. This role will report to the VP International Platform based in Amsterdam and works closely with the NYC based Corporate Development and Strategic Planning Team. The person in this role will have responsibility for ideating, vetting, recommending, and executing a range of potential partnerships, with a focus on complex commercial relationships. Partnerships will be focused on Advertising, Content and AVOD opportunities in Europe, Canada and Latin America. This role requires a strategic mindset, a strong industry background, as well as exemplary analytical, financial, communications and project management skills. You will work directly on projects with senior members of the Corporate Development and Finance teams and other senior executives across the company. A solid network in the international media is required to enable ideation.

What you’ll be doing

  • Ideate platform partnership scenarios across our international markets (e.g. with broadcaster, operators, aggregators, OTT offers)
  • Evaluate potential strategic partnerships and investment opportunities from a qualitative and quantitative perspective
  • Develop detailed financial models, valuation scenarios, and recommendations for potential transactions, working closely with the FP&A Directors of the various business units
  • Support senior leaders in driving consensus on complex strategic and financial questions with engagement from executives, domain experts, and functional teams
  • Develop insightful analysis of key industry trends, emerging areas of opportunity, and the competitive and regulatory landscapes and inform the organization of their strategic implications
  • Work with business and product teams to understand their roadmaps and needs to help inform deal sourcing and priorities
  • Collaborate with product, analytics, technology, legal, finance, and other functional teams to drive deal diligence, integration planning, documentation, and implementation
  • Distill complex diligence findings and investment cases into clear, compelling presentations and other communications for review by senior executives and the Board of Directors
  • We’re excited if you have

  • 8+ years of biz/corporate development in the media business or management consulting experience with a focus on technology or media industry
  • Experience in originating and driving a wide variety of partnerships, deal processes and diligence, including interaction with counterparties and advisers
  • International work experience and a global mindset
  • Deep understanding of the global media landscape, including different categories of content and the related content rights, market segments and business models (e.g. AVOD, SVOD, etc.).
  • Established network of existing contacts within the media landscape to enable efficient sourcing of insights and perspective on potential opportunities.
  • Strong demonstrated background applying quantitative analysis to market assessment and strategy with a track record developing and executing complex commercial relationships
  • Superior problem solving and project management skills, with the ability to proactively manage numerous projects with competing timelines
  • Entrepreneurial and highly organized self-starter who is hands on with the details in addition to high-level thinking.
  • History of working cross-functionally and collaboratively, particularly in an engineering driven organization.
  • Exceptional communicator with the ability to present concepts, recommendations, and analyses to senior management in a clear, concise, and actionable manner
  • Experience reviewing legal agreements and working with counsel to iterate deal documentation
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Results-driven and able to strike the right balance between detail-focused and grasping the big picture
  • Ability to travel as needed, including Internationally
  • BA / BS degree. MBA from a top-tier school preferred
