In this role, you have the opportunity to
Join to an inspired and international team of accounting experts, who collaborate internationally cross-company to support in delivering quality and IFRS compliant financial reporting efficiently and effectively. We provide the foundation for Philips financial integrity and transparency. You will provide technical accounting support for complex business transactions and judgmental accounting topics. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining policies and guidelines relevant to your areas of responsibility.
You are responsible for
Providing accounting support for major transactions and day-to-day business activities by working closely together with the different Philips departments,
Monitoring and overseeing as well as advising organization on improvements on quality of financial reporting,
Supporting decision making and reporting major findings to Senior Business Management, Group Chief Accountant and CFO,
Reviewing external financial reporting – Philips Group financial statements and press releases,
Owning IFRS training content and delivering IFRS trainings to the finance community,
Monitoring developments in accounting standards & projects and translating business impact for Philips,
Develop and maintain the Philips Accounting Manual and Accounting Policy Directives,
Working closely with the external auditors.
You are a part of
The global Technical Accounting and Oversight (TA&O) team is responsible for ensuring IFRS compliant financial reporting within Philips. The TA&O team is part of the wider Accounting, Reporting & Internal Control (ARIC) team.
Working in ARIC, you’ll be at the heart of our worldwide organization as the ARIC team plays a key role in supporting the Royal Philips Executive Committee (ExCo) when it comes to the accounting implications of the various projects and business transactions. You will be involved in helping the processes and functions core to our operations with regards to accounting of day-to-day activities as well as complex transactions. You will be located in Amsterdam.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance,
Certified Public Accountant (RA, CPA or equivalent),
Minimum 10 years working experience in finance and accounting, with an emphasis on auditing, financial reporting, and financial analysis,
Strong knowledge and experience of application of IFRS. Ability to understand and explain complex accounting requirements,
Experience from working in international environment,
Good business acumen, excellent analytical and problem solving skills,
Excellent written communication skills,
Confident oral communicator with strong inter-personal and influencing skills, effective in dealing with people at all levels including ability to interact with senior management,
Highly motivated and able to manage in a changing environment,
Project leadership experience and process oriented. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task,
Comfortable working in a team and independently, willing and able to take on responsibility.
